Sophie Clements (UK, 1978) is a visual artist who concentrates on the relation between vision and sound, making use of rhythm, abstraction, and scientifically inspired ideas. Alone, or in the company of musicians, she creates audiovisual installations, video-clips, works of sound and work on film. She also teaches at the Royal College of Art (where she graduated in 2005) and Central St Martins in Londen. She is the winner of last year’s prestigious Jerwood Moving Image Award. Sophie Clements is the artist in focus during PlazaPlus and she is featured with various artworks, melting the two ‘languages’ of vision and sound in a unique way together.
